If you are a student or staff member at the University of York, you are automatically a member of York Minster Library. You can borrow as normal using your library card and renew online. We also offer a returns service between the University Library, the King's Manor Library and the York Minster Library
We will deliver items between the University and the York Minster Library for collection. Please see our library webpages for further information.
Please be aware that we don’t retrieve items from the shelves for collection at the same library (as you can access the item yourself). If an item is on the library shelves you can request it, but only for delivery to another library (see full information on our Book Delivery Service).
Please note that when you place a request on YorSearch the options of where you can collect the item from are displayed. Please check this before submitting your request.
If you are an external user of the University library, e.g. a SCONUL user, you can use York Minster Library but for borrowing rights you will need to become a member of the Minster Library. For more information about this, contact the Minster Library team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
- In the FAQ previous to this one about returning Minster library books to University Libraries you state it is possible, but in this FAQ you say it isn't?
