Yes, everyone is welcome to use the Borthwick. Please just ask at Reception for a day-visitor pass which you can use to scan for entry through our turnstiles.

If you’re a regular visitor, e.g. accessing the Borthwick or here for more than a month we are able to issue you with a long term access card. Please speak to staff at Reception or the Help Desk. You will need to complete an application form which asks for basic information. If you prefer not to register with us you can of course continue to access the library by requesting a day-pass from Reception each day.

Further information can be found on our website

During office hours, once you are into the library buildings visit the Searchroom reception on the first floor of the Burton building where our specialist staff are available to assist you If you are visiting on an evening or weekend, just make your way up to the self-service microfilm room as usual.
